For a Plan of Action ………………. The Endorsement of the African Youth Charter by African Union Heads of State and government, at their meeting in Banjul in July 2006: creates a platform for Africa’s Youth to engage at multilateral levels, on matters of growth and development, as it commits members state to take obligatory measures to improve the status of young people in their Countries. It enters into force once 15 member states sign the Charter – counting down, with Six Countries namely ( Rwanda, Burundi, Republic of Benin, Mali, Togo and Nigeria) to date that have signed; with Rwanda taking the bold step, to have begun the process of ratification. With a draft PoA, underway for endorsement at the next Ministers of Youth Conference of the AU; a new breath of ideology and leadership commitment to Africa’s renaissance; with youth as the epicenter for action; www.uneca.org/adf
